Little victories and legitimate ones

Talking about finding little victories and legitimate ones, how to balance them out and define success. There are some hard lines, but generally thoughtful and still impactful for me to re-read.

From the start of the season that wasn’t

Missing the good old blogging days and struggling with social media feedback loops, so here we are. // Initially, when the season was cancelled, I was relieved. This pause has made me stop and think a lot, about myself, my pursuits as a racer, and if now is the time to reinvent myself or go back to old roots.

Off road ramblings

Stream of thought, read at your own pace and peril. Please forgive me for not thoroughly proofreading, my comma splicing, odd hypen-usage, and for probably seeming lost in my own head – it’s just like that sometimes…

So this fall was kind of crazy…

Cross is here

Big block of racing to start off the cx season and almost even bigger results! First UCI win, World Cup top 10’s… it’s been a lot, I can hardly believe it.

Check, MSA World Champs

2019 Mountain Bike World Championships, Mont Sainte Anne, Canada – 32nd. Third time to MSA and I finally get to put a check-mark beside it. Being able to cap this season just shy of the top 30 (again), be clean and calm on all the major features, and ride away knowing next time I’ll be…

Andorra and Les Gets World Cups

Andorra World Cup – 32nd Les Gets World Cup – 45th More notes to follow! Second trip to Europe this season for two more World Cup races. It was a real privilege and opportunity to attend with the National Team this time around. Having the consistent staff support and presence of teammates alleviated a lot…

Namur and Zolder World Cups

First bike trip abroad and not wasting any time diving straight in to the two biggest cyclocross World Cup’s on the circuit. Great racing, crazy fans, awesome team.

Cyclocross Pan American Championships

Starting from the back row this weekend – surprisingly not that bad. While I didn’t have any expectations or benchmarks I was trying to achieve this weekend, I always sort of hope I can race with, and be of a similar class to the best of the field.

Rochester CX

I’ve gotten most of the dirt out from between my toes after a dusty couple days of racing down in Rochester, NY. It was a great intro to cyclocross – fun course, good crew, and tight racing. On Saturday I placed 9th, and on Sunday I finished two places better in 7th and only 2:09 back after being 3:00 back on opening day.
